Asking of God

Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. (John 16:24 ESV)

“In Jesus’ name, we pray…” This is why we say this at the end of our prayers. We ask in Jesus’ name, as He instructs us to do. And much like taking a shortcut to work, we oftentimes take a shortcut in our prayers. But Jesus is the One who goes to bat for us. He is the One who stands before God and pleads our case and presents our prayers. Because His (our) Father loves Jesus so much, He is willing to listen to Jesus and grant Him His requests according to the Father’s will.

Don’t overlook Jesus when you are asking God to meet your needs or answer your prayers. Jesus tells us that He is the way to the Father…the ONLY way.
